Track Record: Anderson signed with the Brewers out of the Dominican Republic for $60,000 as a 17-year-old when the international signing period opened on Jan. 15, 2024 and it immediately looked like a bargain. Anderson showed big power in his pro debut in 2024 in the Dominican Summer League with eight home runs, the most of any Brewer in the DSL since 2019.
Scouting Report: As an amateur, Anderson stood out because of his offensive performance and power, but he showed even more than expected and it translated in game immediately. Anderson has a solid sense of the strike zone for his age and good bat speed on an uppercut swing geared to lift and pull the ball. The power potential is there to develop into a 20-25 home run hitter as he fills out his lean 6-foot frame. He’s not an all-or-nothing hitter, but there are some holes and swing-and-miss to his game, especially against breaking stuff, that will get tested against better arms. He’s a fringe-average runner who has good instincts for his age in center field but his pure foot speed probably leads him long term to right field, where his plus arm would fit.
The Future: Anderson has quickly made himself one of the organization’s most promising lower-level hitters. The Rookie-level Arizona Complex League is probably his next step.
