Galvan is a physical, righthanded catcher with strong defensive skills who has also progressed with the bat in his three seasons with Texas. Listed at 6-feet, 205 pounds, Galvan is a steady receiver with strong hands and blocking ability. He folds up nicely behind the plate with good hip flexibility and works from a one-knee setup. Galvan has controlled the running game well in 2025 and has at least average arm strength with a quick exchange that can help his throws play to the 1.90-second range at his best. Galvan’s raw power is his carrying offensive tool, but in his first two seasons with Texas, he swung and missed far too much to derive much value from it. He cut his strikeout rate significantly as a junior and has done a nice job laying off pitches out of the zone.
