  Track Record: Brito signed out of Venezuela in January 2023 for just $10,000. The Astros held him out of competition that season in order to get him stronger, and a year later he was showing consistent mid-90s velocity and was up to 100 mph. Brito made his 2024 debut in the Dominican Summer League, making seven dominant appearances before coming stateside. After one Florida Complex League appearance, Brito was promoted to Low-A Fayetteville on July 23, just two weeks after his 20th birthday. Brito made seven Carolina League appearances, pitching 27.1 innings with a 2.63 ERA and 1.24 WHIP while striking out 34.2% of batters faced.
  
  Scouting Report: Brito is an undersized righthander with premium stuff who had a meteoric rise in 2024 and jumped three levels in his professional debut. What he lacks in size he makes up for with plus velocity and movement across his pitch mix. Brito’s arsenal consists of a four-seam fastball, slider, cutter and changeup. His four-seamer is a plus pitch that sits 94-96 mph and touches 99 with above-average ride and a flat vertical approach angle. His slider sits 83-85 mph with some ride and heavy sweep. It’s a good bat-missing pitch, but he needs to sharpen his command. His third pitch is an upper-80s changeup that lacks vertical and velocity separation off his fastball. Brito will show an upper-80s cutter with promise, but it’s a newer pitch that was rarely used in 2024. Brito’s strike-throwing comes and goes, but he projects for fringe-average control.
  
  The Future: Brito has advanced feel for his plus fastball, and a trio of developing secondary pitches. His lack of size and fringy command are two strikes against his starting potential, but he shows the type of stuff that could play in a high-leverage relief role.
