Eyanson is an athletic strike-thrower who spent his first two college seasons with UC San Diego before transferring to LSU for the 2025 season. As a junior in 2025, Eyanson took a step forward and formed one of the better 1-2 pitching punches in the country alongside LSU lefty Kade Anderson. He posted a 3.00 ERA over 108 innings with a 33.9% strikeout rate and 8% walk rate. Eyanson has a 6-foot-2, 210-pound frame with great strength in his lower half. He’s a powerful mover on the mound who repeats his high three-quarters slot nicely and attacks hitters with a four-pitch mix. Eyanson throws his fastball in the 92-94 mph range and will touch 98. He does a nice job using it to both sides of the plate. The pitch has never been a consistent bat-misser, but it has some interesting traits including above-average riding life and a low spin profile that comes from a relatively steep attack angle. Eyanson’s breaking balls are his best pitches. His mid-80s gyro slider is an above-average offering with sharp vertical biting action and generated a 52% miss rate in 2025. He also throws a curveball with more depth and more gradual top-down shape that serves as a more common secondary versus lefties. Eyanson will occasionally mix in a low-80s changeup, though his command of the pitch is behind both of his breaking balls. Eyanson is a top-two-rounds talent and high-probability starter with above-average control and a deep pitch mix.

Eyanson is a 6-foot-2 righthander who screams starter and pitched his way to a 3.07 ERA in 2024 with 85 strikeouts to just 24 walks in 82 innings with UC San Diego before enjoying a successful summer circuit that was split between the Cape Cod League and Team USA. Eyanson has an easy, under-control delivery and features a four-pitch mix that includes a low-90s fastball that was up to 96 with life at the top of the zone, a big curveball with depth and bite, a slider that has more sweep than depth and a budding changeup. Eyanson has a slow heartbeat on the mound and has established an impressive track record of filling up the strike zone. He transferred to LSU for the 2025 season.
