Quick is a hugely physical righthander with a 6-foot-6, 250-pound frame. That size made him a talented high school football player, and he was good enough to garner SEC offers as an offensive and defensive lineman. Because of his multi-sport background, Quick is still relatively new to focusing on pitching full-time, and he’s steadily grown into a flame-throwing righthander. Quick pitched in the bullpen as an Alabama freshman in 2023 then had Tommy John surgery in 2024. Alabama was cautious with him throughout the 2025 season, when he posted a 3.54 ERA over 13 starts. He pitched a complete six innings only once and never threw more than 96 pitches in a game. Quick throws a four-pitch mix that’s centered on an upper-90s fastball that averaged more than 96 mph and has been up to 99. Despite the power of the pitch, it often plays down because of generic life and has at times been more of a groundball inducer. He might benefit from leaning fully into a sinker profile. Quick has a trio of secondaries that includes a mid-80s slider, a hard, low-90s cutter and a firm, upper-80s changeup. The cutter has plus potential and the changeup gets above-average reviews, while his slider should have the power to at least be an average offering. Quick throws from a higher three-quarters slot and has historically been a scattered strike-thrower, though he has made strides in that department in 2025. His profile gives him a likely future as a back-end starter, with enough arm talent for midrotation upside.

Quick is a hugely physical 6-foot-6, 250-pound righthander who pitched as a reliever in 2023 during his freshman season with Alabama, then missed nearly the entire 2024 season with Tommy John surgery. Quick has power stuff from his right hand including a mid-90s fastball that has touched 98 with bowling ball life that has helped him drive a 61% groundball rate in his first 25 college innings. He also throws a mid-80s slider that some scouts think can become plus and a mid-80s changeup that has average potential.
