Mariners Call Up Cole Young To Majors

Mariners shortstop/second baseman Cole Young, the No. 51 prospect on the Baseball America Top 100, is a big leaguer. Young was promoted on Saturday as one of a number of moves by the Mariners.
Young is expected to play predominantly second base, as he is taking the spot of Leo Rivas. Dylan Moore also plays second, but the versatile veteran plays a bit of everywhere. Young was hitting .277/.392/.461 for Triple-A Tacoma and is a .279/.388/.432 career MiLB hitter. The Mariners’ 2022 first-round pick has been one of the youngest players in every league he has played in, and when he makes his debut, the 21-year-old will be the fifth-youngest player in the majors, behind only Bradgley Rodriguez, Jackson Holliday, Jackson Chourio and Junior Caminero.
