Demetrio Crisantes Will Miss Rest Of 2025 With Shoulder Injury

D-backs infielder Demetrio Crisantes needs season-ending shoulder surgery to correct a posterior labral tear in his left shoulder, the team’s farm director Chris Slivka told reporters Wednesday. Sports Illustrated first reported the news. Crisantes, who ranks No. 80 on Baseball America’s Top 100, injured his shoulder on a swing during game on May 14 with High-A Hillsboro. The 20-year-old slashed .252/.358/.415 with four homers and more walks (21) than strikeouts (19) through 34 games and he is considered one of the better pure hitting prospects in the lower minors. It’s yet another significant shoulder injury to a high-profile D-backs prospect, as Jordan Lawlar (2021) and Druw Jones (2022) underwent similar surgeries.
