  Track Record: Calcaño was Kansas City’s top signing for the international period that opened on Jan. 15, 2025 thanks to a skill set that should keep him at shortstop in the long run.
  
  Scouting Report: When he was being scouting in his early amateur days, Calcaño was skinny. Now, he’s added roughly 25 pounds of muscle and still has plenty of room to grow. He controls his body and feet well, has sound hands and the plus arm strength that should keep him on the left side of the infield. Calcaño is a switch-hitter with solid bat-to-ball skills and an up-the-middle approach.
  
  The Future: Calcaño will begin his career in the Dominican Summer League and projects as a defensive-minded shortstop with contact skills and minimal power.
